Mechanical Product Design
Crafting optimized 3D models and prototypes that balance performance, manufacturability, and cost.
ValBrid provides mechanical product design and engineering services for industrial OEMs and equipment manufacturers. We support both established standard products and new product development, from product improvement and lifecycle engineering to converting a client concept into a validated prototype, production-ready product and complete Design for Manufacturability (DFM) package.

Standard Product Lifecycle Support

ValBrid supports standard products throughout their engineering lifecycle. We work with existing machines, equipment and product families to develop variants, adapt products for new applications, improve performance, reduce cost and maintain accurate engineering documentation.

Our engineers review existing 3D models, drawings, Bills of Materials, specifications, field feedback and manufacturing requirements before implementing design changes. The scope may include product customization, component replacement, material changes, localization, value engineering, obsolescence management, reliability improvement and design updates arising from production or service experience.

The product engineering package includes 3D modelling, 2D manufacturing drawings, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Bills of Materials, engineering documentation, design revisions and production support. This helps customers maintain and improve standard products while keeping the design manufacturable and production-ready.

New Product Development: Concept to Production

New product development may begin with a functional requirement, preliminary sketch, reference product, process need or initial concept supplied by the client. ValBrid works with the client to define the product requirements, operating conditions, performance targets, interfaces, safety needs, manufacturing constraints and commercial objectives.

The concept is developed through engineering calculations, material selection, component sizing, mechanism development, 3D CAD modelling and assembly design. Functional layouts, critical interfaces, access, maintainability, manufacturability and integration with bought-out components are reviewed as the design progresses.

The design is then developed into a prototype for functional and performance evaluation. Prototype observations, test results and client feedback are incorporated through controlled design iterations. Where required, engineering simulation is used to assess structural strength, fatigue, thermal behaviour, fluid flow or bulk-material performance before production release.

Following validation, ValBrid prepares the complete manufacturing-ready engineering package. This may include approved part and assembly models, general arrangement drawings, manufacturing and fabrication drawings, Bills of Materials, material specifications, component details, tolerances, fits, GD&T, welding requirements and assembly or inspection notes. The final design is reviewed for manufacturability, assembly, inspection, installation and maintenance.

Integrated Engineering

Mechanical product design can be integrated with ValBrid’s reverse engineering, 3D scanning and engineering simulation services. Existing components can be reconstructed or improved from physical parts, legacy drawings or scan data, while FEA, CFD and DEM can support design validation and optimization.

This integrated approach allows ValBrid to support the product from initial requirement and concept development through prototype validation, manufacturing release and ongoing lifecycle engineering.
