Electrical Design

Delivering end‑to‑end power distribution and control panel designs built to global standards.

Electrical Engineering & Power Systems

ValBrid provides electrical engineering and design services for industrial facilities, power infrastructure and renewable energy projects, covering the electrical power chain from incoming substations and utility supply through MV/LV distribution, switchgear, PCCs, MCCs, drives and motors to the final connected loads.

We work with end users, asset owners, OEMs, EPC companies and engineering teams on new installations, capacity expansion, modernization and brownfield modifications, supporting projects through detailed engineering, power system studies, construction engineering, vendor technical interfaces and as-built documentation.

Substation Engineering up to 66 KV / 72.5 kV

ValBrid supports substation engineering for industrial and utility-connected systems up to 66 kV nominal system voltage, using equipment up to the 72.5 kV class. Our scope covers incoming supply, switching, transformation, protection, control and integration with downstream plant distribution.

Engineering includes system configuration, equipment ratings, bus and feeder arrangements, protection and metering, CT/VT requirements, grounding, cable systems and control interfaces. For applicable ANSI-based projects, this can also extend to 69 kV systems.

Industrial Power Distribution & Switchgear

ValBrid engineers the distribution of electrical power from the incoming supply through MV and LV switchgear, PCCs, MCCs and distribution systems to the connected plant loads. The engineering considers system capacity, reliability, fault levels, protection, operating philosophy and the requirements of the equipment being supplied.

Our scope includes switchgear configuration and ratings, circuit breakers, protection relays, metering, busbar systems, incomers, feeders and bus couplers, together with transformer, cable and grounding interfaces. Depending on the required reliability and operating philosophy, systems can incorporate single or sectionalized bus arrangements, dual incomers, bus couplers and main-tie-main configurations, including automatic or manual source-transfer requirements.

Protection and switching are engineered as part of the overall distribution system, considering fault interruption, equipment protection, selectivity and coordination between upstream and downstream devices. We also consider how PCCs, MCCs, drives, motors and other significant loads interact with the plant electrical network.

Rotating Equipment & Driven Machinery

ValBrid supports the engineering, selection and verification of motors, rotating equipment and driven machinery, based on the electrical, mechanical and dynamic requirements of the complete drive train.

Motor selection considers the driven load, torque-speed characteristic, starting and acceleration requirements, inertia, duty cycle, supply voltage, efficiency, power factor, insulation, enclosure, cooling and protection. Depending on the application, this may include low- or medium-voltage induction motors, synchronous motors, permanent-magnet motors or other application-specific motor technologies.

Our capability also extends to rotordynamic and finite element analysis, including critical speeds, lateral and torsional vibration, unbalance response, shaft and rotor behaviour, bearing loads and structural stresses. For variable-speed applications, we also support VFD selection and application engineering and motor-drive integration.

Power System Studies & Protection

Power system studies help establish whether an electrical network and its equipment will operate safely and within their required limits under normal, starting and fault conditions.

ValBrid supports load-flow analysis, short-circuit studies, protection coordination, voltage-drop analysis, motor-starting studies and electrical equipment and cable sizing for both new and existing industrial networks.

Changes such as adding a large motor, transformer or VFD can affect transformer loading, starting voltage, fault levels, protection settings and power quality. Our approach therefore considers the effect of equipment changes on the wider electrical system rather than assessing individual equipment in isolation.

Electrical Asset Monitoring

ValBrid supports the engineering and integration of electrical asset monitoring systems, with particular focus on partial discharge monitoring for MV/HV equipment and insulation systems. Our role includes defining monitoring requirements, sensor and measurement interfaces, system architecture, communication requirements and integration with the wider electrical and control system.

Working alongside equipment OEMs and monitoring technology providers, we support applications involving switchgear, transformers, cables and rotating electrical machines, helping translate condition-monitoring requirements into an integrated engineering solution.

Monitoring data, alarms and condition indicators can also be integrated with SCADA, PLC and asset-monitoring platforms, providing centralized visibility of equipment condition and supporting maintenance and reliability decisions.

Construction Engineering & Project Support

ValBrid provides construction engineering support for electrical projects, bridging detailed design with site execution. Our engineering addresses site requirements, installation interfaces, equipment access and clearances, cable routing, field constraints and coordination with other disciplines.

During project execution, we support site technical queries, vendor interfaces, design clarifications, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Site Change Notes (SCNs), field modifications and installation deviations. Changes arising at site are technically reviewed, incorporated into the engineering documentation and carried through to the final as-built configuration.

Engineering Deliverables

Across these engineering scopes, ValBrid develops coordinated project documentation including system architecture, design calculations, equipment specifications and datasheets, single-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, interconnection drawings, equipment and panel layouts, cable schedules, routing information, installation details, material schedules and other project-specific engineering documentation.

Deliverables are developed to suit the applicable project stage, client engineering standards, OEM requirements and EPC or construction interfaces.

ValBrid also provides engineering support in renewable energy systems, power quality, variable-speed drives and industrial control, either as independent engineering scopes or as part of a wider electrical engineering project.
