Job description:
The Design Engineer will be responsible for performing reverse engineering of industrial equipment such as Crushers, SAG mills, and Ball mills, to generate accurate 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings from 3D scan data or physical components. The role involves working on scanned mesh or point-cloud data to reconstruct precise solid models suitable for analysis and production.
Desired Skills :
Experience in Design & engineering preferably in Mining, Bulk Material Handling, Heavy Engineering Domains
Proficient in one or more industry-standard reverse engineering tools such as Geomagic Design X, SpaceClaim, Mesh2Surface, Autodesk Fusion 360 or CAD reconstruction tools such as : SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor with appropriate add-on modules.
Familiarity with 3D scanning data formats (STL, OBJ, PLY, etc.) and mesh handling workflows.
Experience with industrial 3D scanning workflows, including operating scanners and processing raw point cloud or mesh data, would be an advantage
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with International Clients
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and clean 3D scanned data (point clouds or mesh files) of mechanical components.
Reconstruct solid models from scan data ensuring dimensional and geometric accuracy.
Develop 2D manufacturing drawings and assembly layouts based on reconstructed CAD models.
Collaborate with analysis and manufacturing teams to validate design intent and fitment.
Apply best practices in data conversion, tolerance management, and model validation.
Maintain documentation, version control, and standard naming conventions in CAD files
